And the message comes from none other than the first lady of country music. Wigan Council has teamed up with Dolly Parton to pilot her world-famous book gifting scheme for pre-school children under five years old at Sure Start Children’s Centres in the Ince and Bryn wards. There are over six million unpaid carers in the UK who provide care and support to family, friends and neighbours, providing unpaid care worth an estimated £87 billion each year.
